Patagonia

by: Kate Dougherty

  • Why

I’ve been wanting to see Patagonia since I was 12 years old. Love a hardcore outdoorsy vaycay!

  • When

    April 2012

  • Who

Me + My Main Squeeze, Benji.

Highs + Lows

  • When you wake up in the morning, step out of your dome, and look at the peaks behind you. When you walk to your dome after dinner and look up at those stars.

  • The food was exceptional. Fresh local ingredients, and very veggie friendly if you need that – which is hard to find in Chile!

  • The fellow travelers you will meet and the conversations you will have after a long day on the trails – you’ll remember forever.

  • You have to keep in mind you are not at a luxury hotel, so you have to keep everything in perspective and let your hair down a bit. You’re literally at the end of the world… just go with it!

  • If you are not environmentally conscious, this probably is not a great place for you to visit.

  • The extreme weather no matter what the month – pack smart!
