  • Each room is unique and designed by a different artist.

  • Guests have three floors of art gallery space to check out, featuring the work of some of the city’s most exciting emerging and established artists.

  • Very hip design!

  • Since the hotel is quite literally in the middle of the action, the noise from outside and music from the bar can be really loud at night. However, the hotel does give out free ear plugs.

  • We were craving a bid of a midnight snack and unfortunately, there’s no room service.

Important Bits

  • Type

    Boutique art hotel.

  • Vibe

Truly unique, filled with individuality and charm.

  • Location

In the heart of Toronto’s vibrant Queen Street West, which Vogue previously referenced as "one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world."

  • Rooms

37- each room is unique and designed by a different artist.

  • Music

    Didn’t notice any!

  • Year Opened

Originally opened in 1889 as a stylish hostel, and is actually now the oldest continuously operating hotel in Toronto, which is pretty incredible.

  • Designed By

Artist, activist and filmmaker Christina Zeidler and her father Eb Zeidler restored the building to its original Victorian architecture in 2005. However, a different artist has designed each hotel room, so it really depends what room you get!

  • Pool/Gym

There isn't a gym physically in the building, but guests can request a gym voucher from the front desk and take a quick walk down to 99 Sudbury, which is one of Toronto's premiere boutique gyms.

  • Restaurant

    Yes, great brunch spot!

  • Bar

Yes, the Melody Bar. There was a wedding on while I was visiting, so I unfortunately couldn’t check the bar out.

  • Minibar

There wasn’t an actual fridge-style mini bar, but there was a basket of goodies in the room with snacks, water and wine.

  • Wifi

Wifi is free for all hotel guests.

  • Children

I mean you could, but parents would definitely have more fun on their own.

  • Price

    Fairly average in price.
