For the launch of A Hotel Life!
Me and Ben.
The rather sexy exterior of Hôtel Americano.
The bed. Minimal and sleek.
A bit of PVC anyone? Loved the polished concrete
floor giving the room its industrial, modern feel.
Well designed and roomy bathroom.
Industrial ‘worker’ theme carries throughout the hotel
with a soft wash denim bathrobe by Loden
Dager, and heavenly Aesop amenities.
Clever room service menu.
Find your inner southern cowboy with the harmonica
in a mini bar of well selected spirits.
Food is big at Americano; there’s a restaurant, patio and rooftop grill where a 90-day-aged ribeye is cooked in the ‘parilla’ (South American grill) and served with bone marrow, no diets here!
Americano's green smoothie, a treat before the pancakes arrive!
Enjoy the view! The rooftop bar is snug and cozy in the winter.
Highs + Lows
Even though there’s enough animal skin and fur on the roof to keep an Eskimo warm, this is a hotel for the summer months with a patio on the ground floor, restaurant, grill, bar and pool on the roof.
Location – Art, The High Line, and a short walk to some great restaurants.
The Green Smoothie – green apple, kale, spinach, kiwi, mint – even better accompanied by some pancakes and maple syrup!
Gorgeous Aesop Amenities.
That ‘polished industrial’ look looks good, but the room wasn’t particularly comfortable.

Polished industrial with a South American edge.
Chelsea – get cultured there are art galleries on every street, and of course walk the High Line and view NYC from a different height.
Latin-inspired pop beats.

Teeny pool on the roof; no exercising in this pool, clearly it was designed for a dip accompanied by a martini with a twist.
Go South with the Mexicana-inspired menu.
‘Day-time’ bar on the ground floor, candle-lit winter wonderland on the roof (lots of fur on stalls to keep bottoms warm!), and a private bar/club in the basement.
Leave them at home.
