Le Pigalle All of the rooms are decorated by original artwork of the neighbourhood artists and photographers. Love when the local community is supported by an establishment. Go little man!

Le Pigalle The hotel has been designed with music as the centre point. A sound specialist to balance the sound and a musicologist have been used to make the best musical experience. Every room comes with a custom playlist accessible on an iPad. And it was solid!! Lucky me, I got a room with a record player and a lovely eclectic collection of LPs. Also full bottles of niche booze is a plus.

Le Pigalle Most accessories in the hotel are custom designed, like these cheeky condoms. Be sure they hurried themselves into my bag.

Le Pigalle The products are Le Labo Santal with Le Pigalles design illustrations on them. It’s great, but if you take these babies home with you, you’ll get charged through the roof. The hairdryer tote too. Big time bummer. Look, don’t touch: I guess that reflects in the stripper theme of Le Pigalle :(

Le Pigalle I get so giddy for design details like these keychains and magnetic “do not disturb” signs. Way to make your place special.

Le Pigalle The lobby is an eclectic communal area. People have meetings, sit on their laptops or just socialising and having lunch. One of the only places I wasn’t hassled to have something to eat or drink. Feels like Soho Houses do. The DJ table and the custom playlist for the lobby playing in the headphones are a nice touch.

Le Pigalle Dinner is great for big groups. Nibble and pick, or tapas- like adults call it, with spanish and french influence, local bakery bread, great cocktails and well priced wine. Solid get along.

Le Pigalle Seriously comfortable bed. I woke up in the exactly same position as I went to bed. Well it wasn't hard after the eventful and boozy dinner with friends the night before. Thanx Le Pigalle!

Highs & Lows

  • Every aspect of the hotel is locally sourced. The art direction of the fun logos and typography, the furniture hunter, the art, the musicologist, even the bread and flowers are from the hood.

  • For me music makes or breaks a place. It’s so satisfying to know how much thought has been put into it at Le Pigalle. Just look at the “radio” section on their website. I’m in love.

  • The lobby has such a great atmosphere. People really can relax and spend time hanging out there without any snooty Parisian attitudes thrown at them. Free wifi for all too.

  • I geek out on little design details. My favourite was the room key, which looked like some random persons car key. You know you’re an insider from the moment of check-in.

  • You can’t steal shit. Everything is on the menu with a crazy price attached.
