Lime Wood Hotel
by: Alicja McCarthy
Romantic weekend away.
The boy & I.
So the spa has three pools, but the forest views from the hydrapool are unrivaled. With the ever-changing seasons, how can this
not be perfect?
Love the use of colour in this welcoming reception.
Our incredible two-story Pavilion Suite had this freestanding bath in the bay window overlooking the woods!
A mix of country and contemporary style in our
The relaxed and comfortably adorned sitting room with dark wood, soft stone and blues. The garden has immediate access to the forest where all you can hear is bird song.
The back of the hotel doubles as alfresco style dining for the restaurant Harnett & Holder. Look how pretty it is at sunset!
The indoor ‘Courtyard Bar’ has a roof made entirely of glass so it feels like you’re outside.
Harnett & Holder restaurant is super comfortable with eclectic character and charm. Their homemade pasta is divine as well as the mini fried courgettes.
They smoke and cure their own meat and fish in the little smoke house in the garden. This platter is a must!
Need wellies? No problem.
The roof at the Herb House Spa is just delightful. Daily yoga is offered on the deck or you can just sit and gaze at the views.
Approaching Lime Wood Hotel, incredibly picturesque.
Highs + Lows
The team at Lime Wood is exceptional. So friendly and genuinely interested in making your stay a memorable one.
The Herb House Spa! I had a Pai Detox and Decongest Facial, which was full of organic antioxidants. Three days after, my skin still felt great!
If you fancy a walk in the woods, they can provide you with wellies, jackets, bikes, maps and a picnic.
The home-smoked platters at Harnett & Holder are incredible. So melty and flavorsome.
The wine list is a little price-intimidating. Our sommelier was a wonder and we didn’t mind asking for ‘reasonable’ recommendations.
Lack of lighting in the bathroom of our Pavilion Suite.
