Highs + Lows

  • Take a romantic stroll through Tivoli Gardens at night. The crowds thin out and the lights are breathtaking. Also, make sure to rent one of their beautiful bikes and whiz around.

  • Nimb Brasserie’s Nordic-inspired cuisine has some of the best food in town. It also has the best complimentary breakfast ever. Try the Nimb signature juice (cucumber, lemon, apple, fennel ginger).

  • The elegant Nimb Bar is located in the old ballroom and has crystal chandeliers, soaring ceilings and a roaring fire. It’s a beautiful, quiet setting to enjoy their amazing classic cocktails. This is what every hotel bar aspires to be.

  • There is no gym or spa, which is a negative for people who need those sorts of things. You might also be disappointed by the minibar, where water is the only option.

In the Area

You’re in Copenhagen – try to get a table at Noma, perhaps the best restaurant in the world. If you can’t, Manfred’s, Relae, Pate Pate or Geist are all great options to sample new Nordic cuisine. For a modern twist on the classic Smørrebrød (open-faced sandwich) go to Aamanns.

For the best of Danish design, head to Hay House. They don’t ship outside of Denmark, so this is your only chance to load up on their incredible stuff.

Since you are staying in the legendary Tivoli Gardens, get out there and take a stroll. This is not Disney World -- it’s a 19th century pleasure garden, a time machine to an era when people didn’t have the resources to travel so the world (or at least a Victorian era simulacrum) was brought to Tivoli Gardens. It’s a little hokey, but a lot of fun.
