Debut visit to the South of France for a long overdue catch up with close friend from London.
A fine redhead girlfriend and myself.
The bedroom... cozy + comfortable.
This is the farmhouse that dreams are made of.
For Rapunzel-like hair dropping.
One of the hotel’s resident canines.
Susannah our host does a great job of picking the fruits of the season and matching the colour palette to boot. The resident flower of all villas it seems, and with good reason.
Highs + Lows
The pool + the view…perfect temperature, ideal relaxation pose while meditating and breathing in the hilly surrounds.
The surrounds…the amount of things to do in the area means you will never be at a loss of things to do.
The personal, down to earth attitude and good taste of Pantarou owner Susannah and obliging dispositions of her two faithful hounds Roo and Kika.
Nothing to fault here! This place is like South of France’s version of Eden! It’s paradise with camembert, blue cheese and bagels.

Luxury stone farmhouse in Provence.
Rustic stone farmhouse meets elegant European villa.
Perched in the hills of Provence, this property is the epitome of an escape from the big smoke. Surrounded by towns like Grasse (France’s perfume capital that literally sprays fragranced water into the street), Gourdon (a hilltop town with artisan wares a plenty), Gorges du Loup (fresh, turquoise mountain springs to bathe in) Mougins (restaurant town), Cannes is only a drive away from the delights of Paloma Beach and the other towns of the Cote D’Azure.
None necessary –the peaceful silence and zen-like serenity of our accommodation is a rare treat.

The most wonderful Bourgogne edged pool perched in the rolling hills of picturesque Provence, surrounded by a dining terrace and fruit, olive and magnolia trees.
B+B style food with pan au chocolat, croissants and other fresh pastries and carefully curated fruit platters daily, as well as wonderful fresh yoghurts, juices and the imperative must on vacation: stellar coffee. Self-catering dinner facilities include a bbq you can cook from.
No, but the generously sized terrace with rustic furniture and incredible outlook over to-die-for South of France scenery will most definitely suffice.
If you must, but preferably, leave them at home. No one wants his or her poolside time ruined by shrieking and cannonballing.
Reasonable for a superb return.
In the Area
The glory days of old Brigette Bardot films come to mind with this sparkling untainted coastline. We went to Paloma Beach, just 20 minutes beyond Nice, and were fortunate enough to see the sun setting as we drove back through Nice. Magic.
Gorges du Loup + Gourdan
Gorges Du Loup Gourdan
A loop drive through the South French mountains with a beautiful nature walk and maximum tramping and nature impressing moments to be found.
Grasse is fragrant – literally.
Ten minutes drive away from Pantarou, you can choose from a wide variation of fragrances – Fragonard tends to be a good option for other balms, room scents and options. This town leaves Diptyque for dead.
