Highs + Lows

  • After a night full of good vibes and groovy tunes at Pappy and Harriets, stumble over to your room and get cozy on a bed that promises a night of twinkling sleep.

  • The property oozes old-Hollywood history. Walk in the footsteps, and sleep under the same roof as cinema legends John Wayne “Duke”, Gene Autry, and Roy Rogers.

  • With nearly no light pollution, stargazing is at its magical max!

  • The property has not yet reached complete restoration. Some bathrooms are still in the process of being renovated.

  • The town is very small, not many options without driving.

Important Bits

  • Type

    Restored historic motel

  • Vibe

Charming western rustic, dripping with nostalgia.

  • Location

Tucked away in the high desert of Yucca Valley a few minutes away from Joshua Tree and about 32 miles from Palm Springs.

  • Rooms

    17 keys

  • Music

    Sublime desert silence.

  • Year Opened

    Originally established in 1946- Re-established in 2015.

  • Designed By

The property has been gracefully restored by brothers Mike and Matthew French, alongside Casey Keasler for interior design. They have successfully managed to infuse simple modernity into the rooms without compromising any of the historic roots.

  • Pool/Gym

No. Take a hike if you want to work it out.

  • Restaurant

No, however head just a few minutes out and enjoy the most delectable breakfast/brunch at a little hidden gem called La Copine (open on weekends only).

  • Bar

No, but mozie on over just a few feet to the best honky-tonk bar Pappy and Harriets. You can easily spend a few night’s in a row there.

  • Minibar

No mini bar, only a mini fridge. Bring your own snacks.

  • Wifi

Yes, it’s free but very spotty. This may have been due to the storm the previous night. You can find WiFi in the vicinity if needed.

  • Children

Sure. They would absolutely delight themselves running around the Western-themed town. Not for indoor type kiddos.

  • Price

Great value at $135 a night. Even greater considering it is the only hotel in town.
