River Moon at Desa Bulan Villas

The outdoor bath. Is there anything better?
One of many quiet nooks.
Wasting film in the salt water infinity pool.
Gorgeous seasonal fruit & great coffee for breakfast.
A herd of ducks helping to aerate the rice fields.
Palm trees, just in case you forgot you were on holiday.
The pool is surrounded by lots of green. This is shared amongst guests from the 7 surrounding Villas but we had it all to ourselves all day.
The master bedroom facing the rice fields with comfy four poster king bed, duck down duvet and most importantly: mosquito net.
Highs + Lows
Situated amongst the rice fields and set to the chatter of local farmers at work.
The villa's modern indoor/outdoor design suggests a very relaxing layout. Lots of cozy places and plenty of natural light inspire you to finish that book you've been reading.
Local chefs prepare a breakfast complete with coffee and juice in your kitchen each morning.
The Villa is self contained, so none of the normal hotel amenities are available. BYO toiletries.
Just on dusk an army of determined mosquitos attack. The staff are helpful by deploying the mosquito nets on your bed and turning on the electric mosquito deterrents, but wear pants.

In the Area
Jl. Raya Pengosekan, Ubud, Gianyar, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571, Indonesia
A must see even for non-yogis. The giant treehouse hosts classes all day for a variety of different styles and levels. Our favorite was the Sunday dance followed by all you can eat vegetarian buffet.
Jl. Penestanan Kelod No.75, Ubud, Sayan, Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571, Indonesia
This raw food sanctuary is located just outside of Ubud, but only a 10 minute cab ride from River Moon. Their juices are pricey for the area, but famed throughout Bali. We recommend going for breakfast and staying for lunch. The green juice and the raw parfait are favorites.
Go for a stroll around the local village.
It's easy to forget that this beautiful gated complex is located right beside a thriving Balinese village. Head out before the day gets too hot and mingle with the happy locals. They are positive, curious people who will always greet you with a smile.
