St. Paul Hotel

A large, simply decorated and comfortably casual lobby greets you.
I was impressed with the height of the ceilings and the comfy bed.
Not exactly practical but I liked the copper colour and velvet effect sofa which gave the uncomplicated room a much needed lift.
I usually bring my own but their green tea & willow ‘Archive’ shampoo was lovely if not presented strangely.
Visit the recently opened Hambar restaurant in the building. Serving international charcuteries and of course booze.
Small, neat and clean gym is available to all residents… if walking around Montreal doesn’t cut it that is!
This small brass reindeer lift light was lovely, shame it was bolted to the wall!
The entrance to the hotel is both grand and in the style of Montreal’s Old Town.
Highs + Lows
Good location if you’re after Old Montreal.
Bed was mighty comfy!
Views of the town were nice.
10th floor is too noisy due to the outdoor air-con.
Mini-bar charges $5.50 for a Snickers bar! Steer well clear.
Cannot open windows.
The telephones are from 1970’s. I swear!

Elegant, grand, textured, subdued.
On the fringes of Montreal’s Old Town and walking distance to Downtown.
There are CD players (no ipod docs???) on the 10th floor. Mostly to mask the noise of the outdoor air-con units I’m afraid.

Gym yes pool no.
Yes, the Hambar. Charcuterie and wine with an outdoor area across the street.
Yes, the Hambar.
Yes but I’d say St. Paul is more of a business hotel, kids could get bored.
