Highs & Lows

  • Giorgio and his team couldn’t have been more helpful, friendly and generous. Nothing was too much trouble.

  • I don’t usually like a menu that is a mix of cuisines, but the kitchen knows what they’re doing and there is some great cooking here.

  • Difficult to find any fault at Lone Star. The most beautiful setting on a quiet stretch of west coast beach. I even found a turtle to swim with!

Important Bits

  • Type

    Restaurant with rooms.

  • Vibe

    Chilled luxe.

  • Location

On the sublime west coast of Barbados.

  • Rooms

3 deluxe suites, and they’ve just opened their 3 bedroom Beach House next door which has 2 additional suites.

  • Music

    Holiday vibe.

  • Year Opened

Lone Star opened over 10 years ago when it was converted from a garage into a restaurant and then added rooms. Lone Star re-opened after a complete refurbishment in November 2013.

  • Designed By

    The hotel's owners.

  • Health & Wellness

Neither, but you don’t need them when your room is right on the beach!

  • Restaurant

The restaurant takes up the main space of the old garage and sits directly on the beach. Beautifully designed in blue and white (although not nautical themed) this is a great spot for lunch or dinner. We loved the staff uniform of garage boiler suits.

  • Bar

A lovely perch-at bar as well as lounge seating, super comfy.

  • Minibar

    The standard selection.

  • Children

Either, but I would say leave them at home. This place is a real treat to get away from it all.

  • Price

    Expensive, but well worth it.

There is a great mix of restaurants in Barbados, from very expensive such as The Cliff to roadside shacks.
