The Wheatsheaf Inn
by: Elsa de Berker
To live that rustic country life, even if only for a night.
Me and my boo.
The rolling English hills.
The small, cozy, and perfectly formed bedroom.
Luxurious robes and ambient lighting.
Basking in the bath – most highly recommended.
The inside of the garden bar.
The grassy roof.
The snug – note that they will kindly deliver chocolate cake and whisky to you as you lounge.
Quaint local sight-seeing.
The ivy-laden front of the inn.
Highs + Lows
The Wheatsheaf Inn really is the perfect mix of British countryside coziness without being too twee or contrived.
The in-house restaurant is seasonal British comfort food at its finest.
Attentive and friendly staff – they really do cater to your every need.
Delicious locally sourced breakfast included in the price. Think farm fresh eggs and green juice for the health conscious.
It really would be nice if there was an actual mini bar in the room.
The room got quite hot at night, some sort of fan would have been appreciated.

Cotswolds pub/revamped coaching inn.
Landed gentry with a touch of rock and roll (there’s a painting of Kate Moss by Sebastian Kruger in the dining room).
In the heart of Northleach, a small Cotswolds market town set amongst an idyllic background of rolling green hills.
Reggae, reggae, reggae.

No, but they do have a spa treatment room in the garden.
Yes, and all of the food is locally sourced and seasonal. It is most delicious!
Yes, the Wheatsheaf is a pub so it has a great bar filled with a mixture of loyal Cotswolds locals and hotel guests - not to mention a fine array of whiskeys, wines, and local ciders and beers.
No, but there is a little welcome basket of nuts and crisps.
Yes, and it’s free!
Bring them, but you’ll probably have more fun if you leave them at home!
Fair when taking into consideration the killer breakfast that is included in the rate.
