One Leicester Street
Where:London
Why:Because Tom Harris can cook!
When:June 2013
Who:Me

Glorious Room 15 at One Leicester square.

Bed and water. Simple, functional, everything
you need, nothing you don’t.

I was fortunate enough to get the suite, room 15, shower and a tub.

The only hotel I’ve stayed in with
Penhaligon’s products...decidedly British..

Just in case you thought you can only get Toblerone at duty free.

Tom Harris’ restaurant received a good review from The Evening Standard while I was staying there. Tom is exceptionally talented.

Second floor bar. Fantastic cocktails and a much needed escape from the madness of Leicester Square.

Wild strawberries, shaved fennel and fennel ice cream.
I know you want to dive into this photo!

The restaurant has a formal feel, white table cloths, no music, but the staff make it very inviting and charming.

Portabellini mushrooms on toast, absurdly delicious, made even more delicious by the genuinely happy wait staff fluttering about the restaurant at breakfast.

One Leicester Street. Bang, slap in the heart of Leicester square.
Highs & Lows
Excellent food from Chef Tom Harris, formerly of St. John. Fresh ideas, perfectly executed by friendly, knowledgeable staff.
One Leicester Street is the perfect, affordable, stylish option right in the middle of the West end. On the edge of Chinatown and a 1 minute walk to Soho.
Simple, functional rooms with everything you need and nothing you don’t!
You’re in Leicester square, clueless ‘tourists’ everywhere who get drunk and shout a lot.
OLS is obviously very new, they’re working out some kinks...shouldn’t stop you from trying it...but just saying.
