Highs & Lows

  • SO SO into the Diptyque products, especially the body lotion.

  • Heavenly bathtub. And rain-forest-head shower with strong water pressure.

  • I could hibernate for every season in that bed. Mattress/pillows/sheets sent down from slumber gods. Also, no noise at all from the other rooms.

  • Heavenly Instagram-friendly city views from the room and the rooftop garden bar.

  • Fantastic customer service. (Thanks for the complimentary fruit plate and wine!!)

  • Everything was beautiful. Chic and hip. So much marble!

  • If you’re gonna stay in the UES, then this is the perfect location. It’s more residential, so there’s not many tourists. The hotel has a very VIP vibe.

Important Bits

  • Type

Luxe boutique hotel with a tiny sprinkle of downtown vibes. AKA Kate Moss art.

  • Vibe

    Rich and relaxing.

  • Location

The Upper East side. Just a few steps from Central Park!

  • Rooms

    190

  • Music

If I recall, there was a vibe-y soundtrack in the lobby at night.

  • Year Opened

It was built in 1926 (guests include JFK and Bette Davis) so it still has that old school vibe, but re-opened and re-imagined a few years ago.

  • Designed By

Interior designer Lauren Rottet of Rottet Studio. According to the hotel’s website, her inspiration was a “New York City townhouse passed down through the generations.”

  • Health & Wellness

No pool, yes gym. And Cornelia Spa.

  • Restaurant

The one Michelin star and very $$$$ Café Boulud.

  • Bar

Yes, more of a dim-lit cocktail lounge. Bar Pleiades.

  • Minibar

    A nice snack selection.

  • Children

    Please no!

  • Price

Pricy but it’s a luxe boutique hotel on the UES, so makes sense.
