The NoMad Hotel Gets A Stylish New Apothecary

For the better part of the last decade, WANT Les Essentiels has emerged as a go-to brand for sleek, minimal designs. What started as modern wallets and bags evolved into knitwear, shoes, and a range of accessories. Now founders Byron and Dexter Peart, along with Mark Wiltzer and Jacqueline Gelber are opening the WANT Apothecary at the NoMad Hotel.
At the revered boutique hotel, known for one of the best restaurants and bars in the city, the brothers Peart are bringing their own line along with carefully selected pieces that represent their aesthetic. It’s a formula that has already been effective in Canada, where the label operates three boutiques, but the NoMad location is their first US store. With it comes 19th century apothecary-inspired design, using herrinbone floors, custom oak tables, and Roll & Hill smoked bulb chandeliers. But the space still looks as refined as the brands it carries: Jil Sander, Acne Studios, and Fleur du Mal are featured in the clothing selection, while Byredo, Susanne Kaufmann, and Grown Alchemist are part of the apothecary counter. The store fits perfectly with both the hotel and the blossoming neighborhood around it, so the next time you find yourself reading at Rizzoli or dining at the Smith and you suddenly want a spritz of Gypsy Water, WANT has you covered.
WANT Apothecary is in The NoMad Hotel, 1170 Broadway
