El Silencio Lands in Ibiza
Go for the food, but don't miss a good sunset boogie

By Amulya Hiremath on 6.25.21
When the legendary club Silencio first opened in Paris — a venture that had David Lynch on the helm of its creative vision — it quickly became a place where the worlds of music, fashion, art and culture converged. Now El Silencio just landed in Cala Moli in Ibiza, a beach house with two restaurants and a cocktail bar, set in the picturesque, secluded cove.

Ibiza is synonymous with all things frolic and festive, and El Silencio pushes it all forward with an eclectic mix of Mediterranean cuisine, delicious cocktails and an exciting cultural program — think movie screenings, music, and lots of fun, intimate events.

French chef Jean Imbert and Pharell Willams’ collaborative restaurant concept ToShare — following its success in St. Tropez last year — spearheaded the cuisine with Madrid-based bartender Diego Cabrera on the cocktail front. The restaurant serves high quality street food to share like clams with sweet pepper and smoked eggplant with mint, all made from locally sourced ingredients. Meanwhile, the tapas restaurant serves up quick bites throughout the day. With the aim of making the beach house welcoming to both locals and tourists visiting Cala Moli, there’s also a takeaway option.
El Silencio was designed by Mallorcan-based studio Moredesign, who wanted to synergize the space with the unspoiled natural landscape, while retaining the beach house’s 1970s roots. And keeping with the wild and playful spirit of the island, guests can dive into the Ibiza-based Miranda Makaroff’s universe through her large-scale immersive art installation, “The Octopus Visit.”
