Fluorescent Baby Bears Flock Vegas
Artist Paola Pivi’s installation at the ARIA Hotel is a playful exploration of human-animal connection

If there is one place where fluffy colorful Polar bears can pass off to be at home, it is Vegas. With her latest art installation, ‘We are the Baby Gang’, multimedia artist Paola Pivi has done just that — bringing 51 neon-colored Polar bears to the lobby at The ARIA Resort & Casino on The Strip. The baby bears flocked in fluorescent feathers, frolic, float and even yoga pose in The ARIA’s large lobby, creating a one-of-a-kind photo opportunity for visitors.

While it’s all fun and games, this art piece also comes with a bigger message. Highlighting the significance of these animals and deep human-animal connections in a playful manner, they draw attention to the reality of Polar bears continuing to lose their natural habitat to climate change and other human-induced factors.

An internationally recognized artist, Pivi is known for breaking boundaries through her art. From India to Alaska, by way of Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Guggenheim Museum in New York City and the Maxxi Museum in Rome, her art has been part of many important public collections.
The installation is open to public display till November 1 inside ARIA’s main hotel lobby.
