WHY WE WANT TO BOOK IT: The whole place was a present to a lover! In the 1920s, a wealthy, romantic businessman gifted the building to his Parisian darling, so she could host and entertain her literary friends. Over a century since its debut, Hôtel Napoléon is still owned by the same family. It sits on a privileged location in the 8th arrondissement and has 96 rooms and suites overlooking the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe.

BEST TIME TO VISIT: Paris never stops bustling, so it really depends on what you are looking for. From here, you can easily explore the city regardless of the weather, using various means of transportation. And the hotel has a terrace open all year round.

WHAT ROOM SHOULD I BOOK? The standard rooms are on the smaller side (Paris!), which works just fine as you’re bound to spend the day zipping around town. But, if you’d rather have more space, the Junior Suites are almost twice the size and not that much more expensive. Feeling extra fancy? They have three massive suites for you: the Joséphine Suite (named after the singer Joséphine Baker who was a habitué at the hotel), the Imperial Suite and its terrace, and the Yusupov Suite with its unique view of the city.

WHO WILL FEEL RIGHT AT HOME HERE? Those looking for a full-fledged extravaganza. The décor travels through the glamour of the Art Deco era, some rooms featuring an abundance of colorful drapes, others slightly more subdued.
