The entrance to SOMOS is vibrant and inviting! The front is also locked at night with a guard which definitely adds a sense of security
A lounge area on the 2nd floor is great for relaxing and just hanging on the hammock after a day in the sun. The first floor even has a kitchen for those staying longer

Every private room varies slightly, but this private room I stayed in was spacious and perfect for my stay
Perfect lounge vibes on the top floor. It feels like you're in the jungle surrounded by all the greenery. It's magic

Renting a quad or car is essential if you plan on doing some exploring. I took my board to Montezuma to check out the surf. No luck waves-wise but so happy I ventured there to see the cool town. Highly recommend

The House of Somos uses recyclable utensils and really minimize the use of single-use plastic. Love to see it.

A great vibe. The music is incredible and there is a definite sense of community when staying at the Somos hotel. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.

As a female, and when traveling alone, safety is always a key must-have for me. Luckily, I felt so safe at SOMOS. They locked the front gate every night and had someone at the front if you end up getting back later.

Great space for coworking! I could have stayed here for weeks as there is a definite vibe that fosters a work-friendly space.

The hotel can get a bit loud at night, but if you close your windows you won't hear a thing!

Would be great if they had more amenities that might be needed at the front desk. I pulled a rookie move and forgot my toothbrush and had to buy a new one :-/

This is no fault of the hotel or even the town, and I actually LOVE this part of Santa Teresa, but the electricity does go out quite often. Sometimes it can take a few hours to turn back on so make sure you have your phone charged! The beauty of this is that it forces people to be in the present and put down devices, which is a beautiful thing.

SOMOS is located at the northern point of Santa Teresa across the street from La Lora surf spot and Playa Santa Teresa. Walking distance to great restaurants as well as a great sunset beach. It's essential to rent an ATV (aka a quad) or a car if you want to get around quickly— make sure you buy or bring a bungee cord to strap your board.
