Traditional Swedish design in the rooms of Brita's Pensionat.

The little footbridge that joins the forrest with the cabin's rooftop entrance.

Light and bright. The plywood interior of the Mirrorcube.

Can you see the forrest from the trees? Simple, ingenious, semi-invisible mirror-camouflaged exterior of the Mirrorcube.

The UFO: starkly out of harmony with its natural surroundings, the UFO is what all childhood dreams are made of.

Relax in The Tree Sauna. Ancient Greek philosopher Plato saw the connection between trees and steam baths - together they provide the stimulus for philosophical thoughts and ideas.

Sauna shadows: natural and sensible. In Sauna Veritas - in sauna there is truth.

Britta's breakfast spread.

The Cabin stole our heart. Hanging from the trees, with sweeping views over the Lule River valley, this is our favorite.

Highs & Lows

  • Setting: peaceful, private and dreamlike setting in the forest.

  • Hospitality: outstanding hospitality and kindness of owners Kent and Britta.

  • Design: clean, stylish Scandinavian / treehouse aesthetic.

  • Respect for nature: admirable eco-credentials and sustainability practices.

  • Sleeping in the treetops: it doesn’t get much better than that.

  • Food: we were impressed with every Swedish-driven meal we ate at the guesthouse, but if you are not so fond of Swedish food you might struggle to find other eating options.
