Los Angeles With Estelle Bailey-Babenzien

– follow Estelle –

A force in fashion and design, Estelle Bailey-Babenzien is an interior designer whose passion blog, Dream Awake, evolved into a successful multi-disciplinary design studio and co-founder of fashion brand Noah with her husband, Brendon Babenzien. Known for its future-forward approach, Estelle designs the interior and spatial experience of the brand’s retail spaces in London, New York, and Tokyo. Which changes periodically, and everything is on sale in the Tokyo flagship.

We caught up with this extraordinary Briton of half-Ghanaian descent about her adopted home, chatted about her Sunday morning routine, where to go for caffeine and hydration, the best places in Los Angeles to see art, and many more.

Check out our guide to the Best Hotels in LA.

I always make time for Sunday mornings at The Melrose Trading Post flea market and always leave with at least one good find. Rose Bowl is my favorite but it only happens once a month.

Little Dume Beach
Little Dume Beach

For great healthy snacks, grab-and-go lunch, and groceries I love Erewhon Market. For a caffeine fix and good vibes, Bloom and Plume Coffee founded by star florist Maurice Harris is a hot spot for great coffee and dope merch. Grab a cap or tee to let people know that you know what’s up. Beverly Hills Juice Club has excellent juices and smoothies.

It’s always a good idea to drive north up along the coast for a day. En route, check out the Getty Villa Museum for incredible views, art, and architecture before spending a couple of hours at a beach in Malibu. My favorite is Little Dume Beach. On the way back to LA, stop by Moonshadows for sunset dinner and drinks. Nobu is also excellent if you can make a reservation in advance.

If you’re in the Arts District, plan ahead and get a table at Bavel or Bestia for an amazing dinner. Damian also has exceptional Mexican food.

The Underground Museum, founded by the late Noah Davis and his wife Karon Davis, always has incredible cultural events and exhibitions.
