Future is now, and never has it been more important to acknowledge the time passing us by. Yet, as much as we are eager to peek forward, we are reminded that for humanity to create a hopeful future, we will need to address problems from our past. Creative platform and ecological design studio Space Available, hand in hand with a global group of artists, designers, scientists, and environmentalists, are exploring potential solutions to address the recent studies on plastic and human health at the newly opened Museum of Space Available (MOSA).

“While museums around the world play a vital role in showcasing the past, we wanted to create a space that explores the future. We believe the future of design is circular and regenerative, and we wanted to create an experience that archives and explores the visions and systems that could help reshape our lives going forward.” says Space Available founder Daniel Mitchell

Housed in a previously derelict building revived in collaboration with the architects of Sidarta and Sandjaja, and interiors by Tommaso Riva, located in Bali, Indonesia, the museum is connected globally through a Web 3.0 ecosystem. It has an upcycling bar, a recycling station offering free repair services for all Space Available customers, and a workshop learning facility. The Museum of Space Available relies on contributions from a global community invested in bio-innovation, radical recycling, upcycling and future craft.

The museum’s first exhibition, ‘Plastic People,’ explores the story of synthetic plastics, their influence on consumer culture, the planet, and our health, and how the design and art industries can help create circular systems that challenge destructive linear thinking.
