Habitas’ newest outpost launched in San Miguel de Allende, bringing the brand’s sustainable, experience-led ethos as a breath of fresh air to the Guanajuato landscape. The 60-key Habitas San Miguel sits on the fringes of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, just ten minutes from the city’s center, known for its well-preserved baroque neoclassical architecture from the 17th and 18th centuries.

A Hotel Life joined the opening festivities, which took place in the first week of March 2023. The three-day celebration was specially curated by co-founders Eduardo Castillo and Kfir Levy for friends and family of Habitas. From candles-lit sundowners with food, fun, and dancing, cultural walks, and wine and painting sessions to idyllic hot-air balloons launching into the sky at sunrise, celebrations and creative conversations were aplenty. And we have a hotel review by Juliette Frey, director of Chic By Accident gallery in Mexico City, coming soon to A Hotel Life.

The property boasts earth-inspired, limestone-walled rooms spread across a desert-like landscape dotted with towering cacti. Keeping in line with the brand’s commitment to sustainability, Comunidad, a farm-to-table restaurant, serves visitors and outside guests with dining that champions local ingredients and recipes. Also available are event spaces, be it for concerts or weddings, with sweeping valley views. In a location of this natural and historic magnitude, the opportunities to celebrate are endless.

Habitas also brings its renowned programming to San Miguel, and experiences at the property include artist residencies, cultural workshops, film screenings, cooking courses, book clubs, live concerts, and art walks. While on the wellness side of things, everything from yoga to sound healing and meditation are on offer, fitness enthusiasts also have a boot camp on-site. Guests can also venture out to explore the area through horseback riding, mountain biking, and hot-air ballooning.
