We Like A Virgin: Branson Breaks Ground in NYC
Ever since the first Virgin Hotel debuted in Chicago, we’ve been eager for Sir Richard Branson to bring his unique and reimagined brand of hospitality to the east coast. The Big Apple inched that much closer today as Branson and his team of developers broke ground at the future site of Virgin Hotels New York City. Located in the city’s growing NOMAD neighborhood (Short for ‘North of Madison’, and home to other AHL favorites The New York Edition and The NoMad.), the 40 story hotel will feature 463 Chambers, a rooftop pool and bar, and the brand’s flagship social space, The Commons Club.
Known for his splashy public announcements, Branson made a statement by burying a time capsule filled with mementos signifying key ‘Virgin’ moments that have happened in New York.
