Art-Studded Launch of Art Baja California At Mexico City Art Week
Artists, curators, gallerists and the media came together to celebrate and learn more about the five-week cultural festival coming to Baja California Sur next month

On February 7th, as the art world gathered in Mexico City to kick off ZⓈONAMACO and all the parallel program that has positioned the Mexican capital as the most important art destination in Latin America, a group of international journalists, artists, collectors, gallerists, curators and enthusiasts gathered at the Four Seasons Hotel courtyard to celebrate the announcement of ABC Art Baja California‘s first edition.
The cultural festival was introduced by Zélika Garcia, founder of ZⓈONAMACO and co-founder of ABC Art Baja California, Juan Canela, artistic director of ZⓈONAMACO and ABC Art Baja California, Paola Castelo, founder of Vuelta Sur, and Tansy Kaschak, editor-in-chief of A Hotel Life.
Among the guests, artists Elvira Smeke, Francisco Muñoz, Juan del Valle, Arturo Hernández Alcázar, Katja Loher, Alinka Echeverria, Barry Silver, Olivia Steele; curators Direlia Lazo (“El Patio” by ZⓈONAMACO), Brandei Esthes (head of Sotheby’s London), Natalie Kovacs, Tracey Ryans, Anne Verhallen, Kunna Haan, Sebastian Vizcaino (Salon ACME); hoteliers Rafa Micha and Moises Micha (Grupo Habita), Mathia Milani, Zachary Lynd; journalists Julia Chaplin, Alejandra Morón (La Lista), Alex Ocaña (Quien), César Ortega (HYPEBEAST), Gina Jaramillo (Chilango), Héctor Meza (Travellers Citizen), Michael Klug (Whitewall), Veronica Speck (The Design Release); gallerists Janelle Barash and Miguel Guerrero.


















Taking place in La Paz, San José del Cabo, and Todos Santos, from March 10 to April 23, with the participation of artists, galleries, and local spaces, it will bring to life a number of artistic circuits for 45 consecutive days. The festival aims to disseminate art and culture in Baja California Sur, focusing on the local scene by promoting collaborations that strengthen the concept of community among gallerists, artists, collectors, designers, local businesses, and the general public.
