The Beaumier experience begins in Lauterbrunnen, where you board the historic Cogwheel train to Wengen, the only access since cars are not allowed. Skiers and snowboarders share the ride for jaw-dropping views around every turn. A vintage shuttle and warm smiles greet you at top as the team carries your luggage/gear to the hotel. A roaring fire in the lobby, a welcome cocktail, and a quick orientation make it clear you are in the right place.

There's a lot to celebrate here. CO2 Free Heating: wood pellets from damaged Interlaken trees heat the hotel, not oil. Cogwheel trains and small shuttles are the only way in. Sustainable dining rotates seasonal vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free menus. Drinks and Susan Kauffman skincare come in glass. Glacier lithographs printed on used glacier blankets tell local stories.

The original hotel opened in 1912, and the Beaumier Hotel Group re-opened the property after extensive renovations in 2024.

The spa sits in harmony with the hotel and high alpine forest. A meditative space with indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, steam room, cold plunges, and warming room, it’s a modern brutalist’s fever dream. Complimented by a full spa paying tribute to alpine wilderness queen Susanne Kauffman, it’s an organic Swiss take on an Onsen. Ask for a tour through the line of samples.

Chef Will Gordon oversees the dining program from within a 100km radius of the hotel, a nod to sustainability and tradition. As a vegan, his menus are loaded with reimagined, inclusive takes on Swiss classics. Brasserie Belvedere does breakfast and dinner: vegan fondue, mushroom shawarma, chicken schnitzel, beef bourguignon. Incredible cocktails under Belvi Salon's vaulted ceilings. Bergwald Bar is your post skiing vibey cafe/bar with massive couches, roaring fireplace, free pastries, and a hidden library.

High on the mountain, après ski is thriving and the Aperol is flowing. Jungfrau is dotted with chalets for ski or hike in beers, and nightlife means crisp air under the stars. Night skiing and sledging win, weaving chalet to chalet under the lights. Think real live Mario Kart: a wooden sledge, gondola up, dedicated runs down, mulled wine and fondue along the way. Wear layers and low light goggles.

Style is in the air and on the mountain. The uniforms of the staff are all for sale in a small retail concept alongside Susan Kauffman’s skincare collection and curated Monocle books. Think custom embroidered puffy jackets meet your new favorite skincare routine in a Swiss chateau. The in-room minibar is also stocked with local treats, an in-room espresso machine, and everything you need to enjoy the view.

The hotel is fairly accessible with lifts serving all floors, wheelchair-accessible communal areas, and specifically adapted rooms (including some Deluxe Rooms with stunning views) for guests with limited mobility. Many rooms/villas available, and plenty of ADA pathways and access throughout the acreage.

One small pet is allowed per room.

The hotel is family-friendly, with accessible pool space, a kid-friendly menu, and rollaway beds. The whole team is very welcoming.
