Highs & Lows

  • The Location. This house is located on a 200-acre block on the fringes of the beautiful Freycinet National Park on Tasmania’s east coast.

  • The design. Incredible eco design built by the owner. This house runs off a passive solar system and is quite minimalist in design. Light streams into the living area in the afternoon, heating the whole house. There are nooks to soak up the sun and places to hide from it. The open living space is very communal, perfect for two small families.

  • The afternoon sun. It hits the back decks, perfect for sunset drinks.

  • The wildlife. Watch out for native wallabies, kangaroos and wombats wandering around the property.

  • A bath tub! Having one would really top things off.

  • The 2km driveway, but this could also be a good thing, it’s very isolated and quiet.
