You can't beat sleeping with the windows open - falling asleep to the sound of waves (as opposed NYC racket) is pretty magical.

The hotel was so peaceful and quiet...there's plenty of vibrant places to check out in Tulum, but it's nice to have a little beachside serenity to truly slip into vacation mode.

Chiringuito must be the official kiteboarding hotel of Tulum, with a filling station just out front...a major bonus for my boyfriend who spent his days kiting. For those slightly less adventurous, you can also rent kayaks or paddle boards at the kite station.

The design felt like something out of the Greek Islands, yet fit perfectly with the Caribbean jungle vibes of Tulum.

All of the food was very fresh, from the seafood to the margaritas (a diet I could really live off of).

The best way to get around is by bike, although you did have to pay a rental fee each day. It would've been nice if bikes were complimentary.
