Hotel Cappuccino I’d absolutely buy all of these cute dog outfits, if I had a dog. Instead, I went for some Matcha.

Highs & Lows

  • It’s a majorly eco-friendly hotel, and it’s often featured in Seoul’s Michelin guide. Even the bath products, made by “STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME!” are eco-friendly.

  • Their restaurant, Hot Eatsue, is fantastic. I loved the breakfast, with included healthy breakfast-y options with a twist. Also, a major plus: Pho for breakfast! You can choose what you want in your Pho, and the chefs make it for you right then and there. Oh, and no walls, just floor-to-ceiling windows, showcasing those stunning Seoul views.

  • The super stylish rooftop bar (order gin cocktails) and its wrap-around terrace. Again, the views!! Truly breathtaking -- I made sure to be there for sunset.

  • Many rooms are dog friendly! And even the dog beds are made from recycled parts, fabrics, etc.

  • The beds, made by Korea’s #1 bed manufacturer, ACE, are sublimely perfect.

  • Nice, inexpensive rooms.

  • Amazing lobby (massive, and designed in a minimal, earthy manner) replete with a cute cafe serving perfect caffeinated drinks and bites.

  • My room was tiny. Which was fine for me, because I spent the majority of my time hitting the shiny Seoul streets. And sleeping in the supremely comfy bed.

  • Gangnam is not my favorite part of town. But there’s plastic surgery clinics and walk-in Botox spots everywhere, so, if that’s your thing, you’ll love it.

It gives me Arlo Hotel with a side of Ace Hotel vibes.

  • Location

    (Ga-ga-ga) Gangnam (style!).

  • Rooms

    141

  • Music

    Bops in the lobby.

  • Year Opened

    December 2015

  • Designed By

UDS Ltd. And the interior designer = Kidea Partners.

  • Health & Wellness

    No pool, tiny gym.

  • Restaurant

Fab restaurant Hot Eatsue on the 17th floor which comes with STUNNING VIEWS. The yummy menu is mostly Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese-focused, with some Korean dishes as well. There’s also CAFFE CAPPUCCINO in the sun-drenched, plant-filled lobby, which attracts a hip crowd who type away on their laptops at the massive wooden communal table

  • Bar

You must check out their rooftop gin bar. Again, city viewssss!

  • Minibar

Just a mini fridge and complimentary water in my Cappuccino King room.

  • Children

I prefer puppies over children, please.

  • Price

Fantastic prices for the iconic location.
