"A zen hideaway in the world's happiest kingdom"

AT A GLANCE: In a land of pristine natural beauty and overall serenity that makes you want to tread ever so lightly, Dhensa takes that philosophy for life and translates it into hospitality. With light wood interiors, clean lines, and simple yet thoughtful, functional touches, arriving at this mountain hotel in Punakha Valley is instantly meditative. Perched in the grassy green of the surrounding hills, with snow-clad mountains in the distance and a serpentine river weaving below, Dhensa is a retreat for the mind, body, and soul. Highs & Lows

  • The vibe is pristine, and you can feel it from the moment you step in. I just wanted to drop everything and meditate

  • The staff was extremely accommodating and empathetic, making the overall experience comfortable — just what you need after a long day of traveling along windy roads

  • The beauty of the room lies in its simplicity. It felt like living in a Japandi log cabin with modern design details

  • I wished there was a more consistent supply of hot water, especially to soak the long day away in the very inviting tub

  • The food options are pretty limited though sufficient
