Highs & Lows

  • The Linus “Dutchi” bike rentals for cruising along the beach from Santa Monica to Venice or Malibu; or to Abbot Kinney, Third Street Promenade or the Santa Monica Farmers Market, where you can fill the basket up with organic produce to cook in your very own Palihouse kitchen.

  • 100% smoke free.

  • Handsome, well-appointed, spacious suites with stealable custom toiletries and stationery; but they’ll charge you for that irresistable Le Labo candle, so think before you strike the match!

  • No pool. If you’re not into chilly, briny Pacific dips, they’ll arrange to take you to Annenberg Beach House for use of its pool.

  • Front desk can be understaffed and slow during busier periods, but they more than make up for it with courteous, knowledgeable and accommodating service.

Important Bits

  • Type

Unique, sophisticated, eccentric boutique beach lodge.

  • Vibe

Smart, cultivated, old world meets 21st Century Modernist salon. Good for horn-rimmed, spec-wearing, literary types – details, details, details! The hotel is meticulously riddled with bric-a-brac, oil paintings, textiles galore, bespoke wallpaper, bell jar terrariums and taxidermy.

  • Location

On a quiet block of Third Street, just steps from bustling Third Street Promenade and the beach.

  • Rooms

    38

  • Music

    Big band mornings, Indie afternoons/evenings.

  • Year Opened

    2013, one-month old!

  • Designed By

    Owner Avi Brosh

  • Health & Wellness

Neither. The beach is a stone’s throw away.

  • Restaurant

Cozy café in the salon-esque lobby offers a good breakfast and lunch menu.

  • Bar

No bar, though the quaint, diminutive coffee counter will soon be serving cocktails exclusively to hotel guests.

  • Children

We found the well-mannered progeny of the chic, worldly guests poking about the lobby’s curio totally adorbs.

  • Price

    Good bang for your buck.
