Pink Hotel The Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos in Spanish, is said to be Mexico’s most important celebration. In Oaxaca, all generations come together to pay respect to the dead and commemorate life. People build altars, gather in the streets, paint their faces, and go to the cemeteries to spend the night telling fun stories of those who passed, listening to music and sipping mezcal until sunrise.

Our Den Mother and Supreme Magic Maker Lauren Brand recruited a local team and, using hundreds of flowers, candles, and a few other magic touches – like changing all LED lights to a much softer glow bulbs she brought on her suitcase from Los Angeles – transformed the house into the hauntingly luscious Pink Hotel.

CELEBRATION IS CEREMORY!

Artist Carlito Dalceggio brought a large installation to Gem&Bolt’s party at Hacienda Xaagá, a historical site of Zapotec ruins.

One of the beautiful reusable flasks guests were gifted at the party – and our huge VIVA! to an entirely plastic-free event.
