Surpassed all expectations — owners, Adam and Sarah, personally picked us up and greeted us with reusable canteens and ice cold, homemade ginger-beer, as we quickly kicked off our shoes and settled into island life

Zimbabwean-born owners Adam and Sarah dreamed, designed and physically built the property themselves with local tradesmen who are still part of the Sussurro family today. Championing local craft was of utmost importance, with every single item 100% African-made; including woven baskets from Zimbabwe, Senufo stools from Ivory Coast, and lounge chairs handwoven on site, to name a few

The hotel is located in Southern Mozambique on the interior of a remote peninsula known as Nhamabue. The best way to get there is to fly into Vilanculos, where you'll be picked up and driven 2 hours along a beach road surrounded by dramatic dunes and every shade of blue imaginable.
