The coolest old bike, Turquoise Barn,
incredible flowers...all so perfect.

A lot of the artwork and furniture was
lovingly crafted by the owner.

Our room felt very Brooklyn...the owners
used to live in Fort Greene.

Fresh cut flowers from the grounds are placed in the rooms daily.

The grounds are idyllic and feel like the English countryside.

The namesake Turquoise Barn, where the owner has his workshop/studio.

Inside Turquoise Barn...the studio, workshop
and sometimes retail space.

This is Michael. He used to be in the music business in NY and now he’s some kind of upstate artist, craftsman hero.

Artwork is on show throughout
the property and some of it’s brilliant!

Had to…

Turquoise Barn is a vegan B&B, offering one of the best breakfasts on earth.

The grounds are free to roam around.
This is the view from our window.

The northwestern parts of The Catskills is pretty far from NYC, but incredibly picturesque and most certainly worth the trip.

Plenty of space...and chickens and ducks...

We went for a hike and stopped at this
nearby pond for hours. So, so peaceful.

This is Turquoise Barn, it really does look like this...
located in a stunning part of The Catskills.

Highs & Lows

  • Turquoise barn is in a really beautiful and remote part of the Catskills, the hills, lakes and woods surrounding the barn are incredible.

  • The owners are lovely and very knowledgeable about the area, not to mention incredible in the kitchen. One of the best breakfasts ever...with plenty of gluten free options.

  • There’s a store in the B&B where you can buy everything from daily farm fresh eggs, local honey and herbs and artwork, and furniture lovingly made by the owner Michael and local artist friends.

  • They offer retreats combining elements of food, art and nature. Take an "education vacation"!

  • The Cockerels will wake you up…take ear plugs.

  • It’s far, but that’s also a good thing…
