Highs & Lows

  • The heritage of the building — many historical figures such as the Kray Twins and Oscar Wilde were famously booked here. Some of the old police station's features have been preserved in the hallways and even some rooms.

  • The food is excellent!! Run by Chef Ashley Abodeely, the menu is "eclectic, with a focus on local and regional bounty from farm, field and coast." I absolutely loved the roasted cauliflower with figs and vadouvan; and the king crab tagliatelle was one of the best I've ever had.

  • The design! Love the thinking process and continuity between the communal parts and the room. The colors and tones echo throughout the entire space giving a sense of familiarity and hominess.

  • The attention to detail is prevalent. Whether it is the design, the service, or the cuisine, everything is on point!

  • There are three restaurants, each with their own distinctive vibe and atmosphere.

  • The imposing glass ceiling atrium is the highlight of the space. It allows the main restaurant to bask in natural light while the many plants and vines make it feel like an open garden. A real gem in the middle of London.

  • There is no swimming pool.

  • Such amazing comfort and indulgence comes at a steep price. The value per square foot is definitely on the higher end of the scale.

Important Bits

  • Type

    Historic Hotel

  • Vibe

Traditional London elegance meets ultimate comfort

  • Location

Located on a quiet stretch of Covent Garden in Central London, in the old Bow Street Magistrates' Court and police station

  • Rooms

    91

  • Pre-Arrival & Arrival Experience

Personal and attentive. The ever so smiling staff is professional but have this incredibly welcoming and relaxed aura about themselves. After a very swift check in, I was escorted to my room by the same person who checked me in. The experience felt much closer to being welcomed by a friend than a hotel clerk

  • Future Forward

    -

  • Music

Discrete and contemporary. Loved the playlist — mostly jazzy and mellow indie hip-hop. As someone who lives with music, I appreciate not being overwhelmed by it, the volume and vibe were just right

  • Year Opened

    2021

  • Designed By

    New York-based Roman and Williams

  • Health & Wellness

They have a fitness and workout room and a spa

  • Food

Three restaurants all overseen by Ashley Abodeely. The NoMad is the signature restaurant and is high-end. The Side Hustle is more casual and has a south Cal-Mex menu. The Library serves breakfast and light meals throughout the day until the evening

  • Bar, Events & Nightlife

Each restaurant has its own bar. I was also shown a bar that was still under construction which would cater more to night-owls — with a DJ and available for private hire. Outside, Central London’s incredible night scene with SoHo’s super vibrant bars and Mayfair’s exclusive night clubs are just a few steps away, but far enough that you don’t have the messy Leicester Square crowd on your doorstep

  • Minibar & Retail

The rooms have a lovely stocked bar and coffee machine

  • Accessibility

Some rooms and most common areas are wheelchair accessible

  • Pet Friendly

Pets are allowed with prior agreement from management. Animals are restricted to bedrooms and dogs are also allowed in the guest-only library and are not permitted in any public area

  • Children

    Yes

  • Price

Prices per night range from $700 - $3,500
