Highs & Lows

  • The interiors avoid the polished sameness currently flattening boutique hospitality. Everything feels collected, personal, and slightly unexpected.

  • The courtyard garden is one of those rare central London spaces that genuinely lowers your nervous system.

  • The hotel manages to feel deeply British without collapsing into cliché.

  • While the hotel, just opened, and is already filled with locals, the atmosphere remains intentionally subdued.

Important Bits

  • Type

    Lifestyle hotel

  • Vibe

A very well-traveled collector moved into a Georgian townhouse in Bloomsbury and decided to casually let a few lucky people stay over.

  • Location

    Central but peaceful

  • Rooms

    72

  • Pre-Arrival & Arrival Experience

Smooth and personal. The website sets the tone immediately: intimate, design-forward, and refreshingly free of corporate polish. Arriving felt like returning somewhere familiar.

  • Future Forward

No plastic, refillable amenities, thoughtful sourcing, neighborhood integration, smaller-scale hospitality, and a strong sense of cultural personality.

  • Music

Soft jazz, downtempo soul, the occasional classical moment drifting through shared spaces.

  • Year Opened

    2026

  • Designed By

    James Thurstan Waterworth

  • Health & Wellness

Compact but beautifully designed gym, walkable neighborhood, nearby parks, and the rare ability to actually sleep deeply in central London felt better than a spa day.

  • Food

Comforting British classics, elegant and delicious breakfast, and a proper afternoon tea.

  • Bar, Events & Nightlife

More intimate cocktail-and-conversation energy than scene-y nightlife. Feels built for writers, curators, editors, and people who enjoy sitting in a room together.

  • Minibar & Retail

Well edited rather than overloaded. Good snacks, proper tea, quality spirits, and a few nice details.

  • Accessibility

Accessibility is more limited due to the historic Georgian townhouse structure. Some public areas and rooms may be difficult for wheelchair users, though team is very accommodating and helpful with arrangements whenever possible.

  • Pet Friendly

    Yes

  • Children

  • Price

Great value for your buck — if you understand what to expect in Central London

Hotel Location The Zetter Bloomsbury, Montague Street, London, UK

Bloomsbury remains one of London’s most intellectual neighborhoods — leafy garden squares, historic townhouses, independent bookshops, museums, and cafés filled with students, writers, and people pretending that really finish their novels. Central enough to move easily through the city, but calm enough to actually exhale.
