Highs & Lows

As someone who appreciates beautiful design, this was top notch…like stepping into an Architectural Digest spread. My room featured an original antique Chinese bed - although not entirely comfortable…it was a sacrifice I was willing to make.
-
The food. Fresh berry tart for breakfast (warm out of the oven), fresh pasta...fresh everything.
-
Views for days.
-
The service. When caught in a time pinch and unable to get a taxi, one of the staff drove me to the bus & helped me purchase my ticket. A real life saver when your Italian is rustic (or nonexistent).

This is it. I'm finally able to answer the "favorite hotel in the world" question.
Important Bits

Country villa turned B&B.

Less like checking into a hotel, more like staying at your family's ultra-chic Tuscan estate.

Off the beaten track, as it should be when visiting Tuscany.

-

2003
-

Lovingly restored by owners Aurora and Carlo.
-
Health & Wellness
Two pools...one of which is an infinity pool overlooking the rolling Tuscan Hills. A small gym with everything you need...although I opted for a run through the countryside - much more scenic.
-
Restaurant
The food experience was the highlight of my stay (oink, oink). The kitchen is the real gathering place of the hotel and someone is always cooking up something freshly picked from the garden. Not in the mood for what’s offered on the menu for dinner that night? No problem, the chef is happy to whip up whatever you’re in the mood for.
-
Bar
The hotel is set within a stunning vineyard & produces its own wine...it would be a sin not to indulge. This year the owner produced their first small batch of rosé for guests, which was a real treat to try.
-
Minibar
A small selection of drinks + snacks.
-
Children
Best left for the big kids.
-
Price
Worth every penny.
