Highs & Lows
-
The retro vibe and vintage décor. Total standout — no other hotel in Madrid pulls it off quite like this.
-
The bar downstairs is not just for guests. It turns into a local hotspot with live music, great cocktails and a see-and-be-seen vibe worth its hype.
-
The rooftop penthouse, is a world of its own, a hidden little oasis floating above the buzz of the city.
-
Having 7 Islas hotel in the nearby Valverde street, Malasaña can now proudly claim not one, but two boutique hotels. Also, its unbeatable location puts you steps from Gran Vía, Chueca, Puerta del Sol, and Chamberí — an ideal hub for exploring the best of Madrid.
-
Minibars are not stocked up, which is a missed opportunity to feature local drinks and bites.
-
The penthouse sits right on the rooftop, so if you’re craving full-on privacy, just know the occasional rooftop wanderer might crash your sky-high vibe (unintentionally, of course).

Pre-Arrival & Arrival Experience
The website’s super easy to click through, but there is no information on menus, room service, or what’s actually happening at the hotel. Their social media gives you more clues, but you’ll have to do some scrolling. That said, once you’re there, the staff totally make up for it (as well as the welcome chocolates from Cacao Sampaka). They’re incredibly warm and helpful — it honestly feels more like staying at a friend’s stylish house than a hotel. Got questions? Just ask. And if you bump into Yoan (he’s the owner and kind of a legend), say hi! While you’re at it, get his tips on the city — the guy knows everyone and everything

Food
Breakfast is quite worth it here: composed of sourdough bread with mashed tomatoes and olive oil, crispy croissants, a fruit bowl, or hard-boiled eggs. And, of course, outstanding coffee and freshly squeezed juice! At night, snack on some cecina (similar to ham but made from beef) from León and Spanish cheeses and jams
-
Bar, Events & Nightlife
Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays the party begins at 8pm with live music, craft drinks and bites from guest chefs
-
Minibar & Retail
Although a small fridge is provided in each room, a minibar is not offered. On the bright side, the lobby has a charming little counter where you can snag products scented with a custom fragrance by perfumer Francisca Mancini. Expect a seductive mix of cistus labdanum, nutmeg, plum, and tobacco leaf — basically, the hotel bottled

Malasaña wasn’t always a must-visit neighborhood like it is today—back in the day, it had a rough edge. But like all great neighborhoods, it got a glow-up. First came the wild nights of la Movida Madrileña, with iconic clubs and a young Pedro Almodóvar on the dance floor. Then it became the go-to for indie kids and alt-nightlife lovers. These days, it’s more polished and hipster.
