"A quietly sophisticated, calmer, more local Paris just minutes from the Champs-Élysées."

Tucked in Paris’s refined 17th arrondissement near Parc Monceau, the neighborhood feels quietly sophisticated. Wide Haussmann boulevards, embassies, excellent restaurants, and a growing number of galleries define the area.

Highs & Lows

  • Roman and Williams’ design gives the entire hotel a cinematic atmosphere. Layered materials, warm lighting, and beautiful textures that make every corner feel intentional and inviting.

  • The staff were genuinely cool and friendly. There’s a relaxed confidence in the service that feels very Parisian. Attentive without being overly formal.

  • The rooftop restaurant La Base and its outdoor terrace feel like they must really come alive in the warmer months. Even during my stay you could sense that it’s designed to be one of those summer places people linger late into the evening.

  • My room, also designed by Roman and Williams, was spacious, beautifully detailed, and extremely comfortable. The materials, lighting, and layout felt thoughtful and calming, and overall the hotel offers strong value for the level of design you’re getting. I also loved the wellness center, which is a great place to reset after long days in the city.

  • The lighting in the rooms, while atmospheric and beautiful, can make working on a laptop or reading at night slightly difficult. I also had trouble with closing the blinds in the room. I love technology but a little instruction or analog option would have been helpful.

  • Although Parc Monceau and the 17th is utterly charming, it is a bit far removed from the districts with the most action during design and fashion weeks. Expect to travel a bit from/to the hotel, and if that’s not an issue, you’ll be quite happy.

Important Bits

  • Type

    Design hotel

  • Vibe

Vibey playhouse for the discerning design-driven traveler with a potential thirst for business and fitness

  • Location

    17th arrondissement

  • Rooms

    58 rooms and suites

  • Pre-Arrival & Arrival Experience

Effortless booking with a clean, intuitive website that clearly communicates the hotel’s identity as both a cultural space and a place to stay. Pre-arrival communication from the team was warm and responsive, creating a sense of anticipation and the feeling that the experience had already begun before stepping through the door.

  • Future Forward

Nothing particularly noteworthy that I know of

  • Music

Ambient, downtempo with a some dance in-between (Think: Air -- La Femme D'Argent)

  • Year Opened

    Early 2025

  • Designed By

Roman & Williams and PCA-STREAM agency

  • Health & Wellness

Terila health club and fitness facility made an impression: full gym, indoor pool, sauna, steam, indoor climbing wall. Well done to the team.

  • Food

I only had the chance to dine in the ground-floor brasserie, as the hotel’s top-floor restaurant La Base was fully booked the one evening I was free to try it. The other nights were taken up by business dinners around the city. (A very Paris problem.) The brasserie itself is elegant and quietly polished. I ordered a beautifully prepared sea bass with seasonal vegetables, a dish that was simple, fresh, and confidently executed. While the food was lovely, the room felt a bit calmer and more restrained than the lively atmosphere I could glimpse upstairs. La Base, perched at the top of the building, is clearly where the real buzz happens.

  • Bar, Events & Nightlife

Apparently the real magic happens at the hotel at night during events, mainly Fashion Week. I enjoyed cocktails at the bar but otherwise spent most of the evenings out on the town, or otherwise, sleeping.

  • Minibar & Retail

The minibar feels curated with intention. Instead of predictable snacks you’ll find French craft sodas, natural wines, small-batch spirits, artisanal chocolates, and elegant pantry staples. A few design objects and art books nod to the hotel’s creative DNA.

  • Accessibility

The hotel includes accessible rooms and elevator access to all floors, with step-free entry to the main public spaces including the lobby, restaurant, and bar. Because the building’s architecture plays an important role in the design experience, some historic elements remain, so guests with specific accessibility needs should confirm details in advance.

  • Pet Friendly

    Yes. Woof!

  • Children

    If you must...

  • Price

Reassuringly expensive, like all good hotels in Paris. You’re paying for thoughtful architecture, serious design credentials, and the feeling that you’re staying somewhere culturally plugged into the city.
