Scattered around the hotel are these vitrines filled with found objects that are left behind or gifted to Michelberger by guests and friends
The lounge and cafe areas are large and inviting
Plus, the lounging area is super cozy and becomes lively at night. Many of the hotel guests are musicians; if you are lucky, you might be able to witness some live improv around the piano
The bed appreciated after a long and delayed train ride from Amsterdam to Berlin
Must try Michelberger's fountain of youth coconut water drink which is available during breakfast and sold at the bar
Like everything here, the breakfast is wholesome and seasonal. A+ for the broad mix of choices and catering to multiple dietary needs

We had to try the restaurant at Michelberger. We were sold on the property's commitment to regenerative agriculture, reflected in the menu and dishes. For the occasion, Tansy and I invited our friends David and Alexa to break bread

For history buffs, the building — like most things in Berlin — had multiple reincarnations, a factory space in inception, the building was partially destroyed during World War II, restored in the 50s and 60s, then the GDR fitted the building to house administrative offices, then became vacant post-reunification until it became Michelberger

The hotel has two bedding systems. On the first to third floor, mattresses are made of sustainable fibers — from eucalyptus wood. On the fourth floor, a customized sleep experience is on offer from Nottinblú. I don't fully understand how the mattress responds to your movements. I tried it and love it

I only wish there was a gym with weights and machines. This said, there is a yoga studio with regular class schedules
