Talk about a grand entrance.

The lobby’s many cabinets of curiosities.

Required reading, from Bowie to Beuys.

Afternoon tea, champagne afternoon tea. I’ll take the latter, obviously.

Contemporary coziness.

If you’ve never taken a selfie in a terry cloth robe before, I highly recommend it.

The kind of side table design-lovers dream about.

My little breakfast nook.

In the rare event of sunshine in London, go for bare legs.

“Fashion is like eating. You shouldn’t stick to the same menu.” True.

Breakfast of champions.

Highs & Lows

  • I loved the design. Each room has handpicked antique items, plus work from British artists on the wall.

  • The common spaces are beautiful. You feel like you’re hanging out at a really successful friend’s townhouse, surrounded by beautiful art and art books.

  • From the ladies at the front desk to the late night bartender, everyone exudes the best of British charm.

  • They gave me an awesome tote bag (or did I steal it, can’t remember?) that I use everyday.

  • The artwork of one of my favorites, Harland Miller, on the walls.

  • There was construction going on across the street so it can get a bit loud.
