Soho Grand Gilligan’s is the pop-up eatery that will take over the Soho Grand’s Yard for the summertime and its rather wonderful. I recommend a combination of pizza and watermelon Margaritas.

Soho Grand These beds have helped me through many a near-death hangover…I cannot recommend them enough.

Soho Grand Welcome room service man! What do you mean I look very excited by my 6am breakfast? Me bored due to Jetlag never.

Soho Grand Because in London I live on the ground floor and rarely travel above a 3rd floor, I always have to take many obligatory pictures of “I’m on the 12th floor look at the view - LOOK!”

Soho Grand And for the morning after the night before, I recommend grapefruit brûlée and green-stuff juice and lots of coffee, all which the Soho Grand provides with a smiling face.

Soho Grand I’m not really sure it’s socially ok to sit in the dog park to look at dogs when I miss mine while I’m travelling… but I still do it and recommend it as therapy.

Soho Grand The Soho Grand Bar has an elegance, which means I still feel like a lady 4 margaritas in.

Soho Grand The Soho Grand has a special cocktail menu that is based around 51 whiskeys in America. I’m not a huge bourbon drinker, however, even I found a tipple or 2 to enjoy.

Highs & Lows

  • The staff are knowledgeable and helpful and many have been there for years. Always a warm welcome when you arrive, I feel like an old friend of the doormen.

  • There is a wonderful dog park, which is a total bonus to me as I really miss my canine company when I travel.

  • The bar in the lobby is perfect for both a breakfast meeting and a Friday night party.

  • The downlighting on the mirrors gave me a fat complex… it’s the mirrors, I promise.

  • They don’t have sex toys in the mini bar anymore...

  • The rooms can be a bit dark.

  • Location

    Soho

  • Rooms

    353 rooms

  • Music

Whatever Mr. Rojas or their team of hipster DJs have deemed cool at that given moment, so take notes.

  • Year Opened

    1996

  • Designed By

    Helpern Architects.

  • Health & Wellness

Yes, plus a great spa with yoga classes. Although, I always pack my training gear and in 6 years of staying here I have never made it inside.

  • Restaurant

Yes, there is always great & comforting food to be found in the lobby bar. This summer, go outside and find Gilligan's in the yard – it’s pretty wonderful, especially when you mix watermelon daquiris with jet lag… then everything is wonderful.

  • Bar

    Yes.

  • Children

I haven’t seen many children, but that is probably due to the unsociable (or overly social) hours I keep. That being said, it’s a wonderfully comfortable place with great staff and I would be more than happy to stay here with children.
