Details are so well-done, it felt like someone actually spent time in the spaces to make it comfortable. Every detail was in place, down to the extra blankets from their own Denim Blanket Company, plenty of lighting options (so rare!), and thoughtful furniture layouts

Year Opened
Originally an 1851 merchant's home (Mr. Addison Choate), run as a B&B for almost 50 years, it was restored and reopened as the boutique hotel in summer 2019

Owners Courtney and Marshall Tulley. Each piece of artwork and decor is a playful riff on historic East Coast homes, with every last light switch in the right place (dimmers!). The 2 carriage houses are outfitted for full-time life - I fully wished I had time to invite all my friends/family over

You're right in the middle of Rockport, so walk into town and go from there. Walk to Front Beach, Back Beach, or Old Garden Beach. Borrow one of the house bikes to cover town

Food
No restaurant or meals but two working kitchens and dining areas (and full kitchens in carriage houses) mean multiple guest groups can have access at once. Tea and coffee is available in the kitchens, but for meals, head into town. (All Dough is great for coffee/pasty, Delisi's Red Skiff is full-on breakfast, seafood, etc.)

All of Rockport is a stroll down the street. Restaurants and bars everywhere

No merch, but you won't need it with all the local shops and galleries

Accessibility
Because of its historic status, major modifications aren't allowed, but they make an effort where possible for limited mobility guests. Request a first-floor room in the main house; the King Carriage House has an accessible bathroom on its ground floor, but the bedroom is up a staircase. Skip Queen Carriage House if accessibility is an issue - the bed/bath is up a narrow circular staircase
