Chiltern Firehouse To spark up the fire all you do is pull a lever to the left of the chimney. Never underestimate the impact an open fire has on your soul.

Chiltern Firehouse The bathroom is jaw-droppingly perfect. Not only is the tub insanely beautiful, the floors are heated and cozy, which is beyond comforting.

Chiltern Firehouse We were like ‘what’s this door?’ and opened it to reveal a glittering, mirrored mini-bar filled with snacks, drinks and beautiful crystal. There are fresh lemons, limes and oranges ready for your cocktails.

Chiltern Firehouse Glad the Chiltern agrees that condoms should be free and in the bathroom not the mini-bar. This should be as standard as free WiFi IMHO!

Highs & Lows

  • The staff is absolutely without fault. These guys treat hospitality like a vocation and combine extreme professionalism and a can-do attitude with a friendliness and ease you don’t often see combined.

  • The décor – super charming vintage luxury. The best lighting we’ve seen anywhere in a long, long time

  • The bathrooms are bonkers. Those tubs! The heated floors! Utter perfection.

  • The fireplaces in every room. Perfect for ordering afternoon tea and getting cozy.

  • Owner Andre Balazs is there all the time, which is really nice to see. Well, if we owned it we would be, too.

  • Service – when they come and get your ironing instead of bringing you an iron then hang your perfectly steamed garments in your walk-in closet, you just think ‘I want this to be my life all the time.’

    Paris-based Studio KO.

  • Health & Wellness

    Nope

Yes, helmed by Nuno Mendes. Get the chicken caesar.

  • Bar

Insanely good lighting. It has a Chateau Marmont/Bowery Hotel vibe with a little more warmth and sparkle.

  • Minibar

Best I’ve ever seen. In addition to artisanal top shelf liquor and snacks, there are fresh lemons, limes and oranges ready for your cocktails. And yes, duh, there’s a knife too.

  • Children

Don't bring, it's not for kids.

  • Price

SO expensive! But SO worth it.
