"The revival of old Downtown New York elegance with a fresh and approachable twist"
AT A GLANCE: Housed in an iconic Lower East Side landmark, Nine Orchard embodies the elegant past of Downtown Manhattan and enlivens it for the 21st century. With simple but comfortable and fashionable rooms, the hotel makes everyone feel at home. From the stunning Swan Room to the retro and cozy Corner Bar, the food is a delight. The location is a big plus, and we especially love their community commitment to supporting neighborhood businesses. Perfect solo, with a partner or a group — we hear the three suites on the fourth floor can be joined via a shared terrace! — Nine Orchard is a great way to experience New York in a refreshing style.
Highs & Lows
-
I lived in the Lower East Side for almost a decade and always wished for a hotel of this caliber to grace the neighborhood. It was great to be back and stay at Nine Orchard; it felt like an elegant but welcoming home while I walked down memory lane and visited my friends and favorite spots in the area. And there are plenty! From here, it is also super easy to get around Manhattan or head over to Brooklyn via either Manhattan or Williamsburg Bridges. So, yes, location, location, location!

The team is fantastic, all smiles, knowledgeable about the hotel and the area, and always ready to help. It was like staying with friends
-
The Swan Room is a must. Simply gorgeous. A lovely place to gather for a drink pre or post-dinner (we had our decadent dessert here)
-
I simply love how supportive Nine Orchard is of its neighborhood community. Future-forward at its finest!
-
Make sure to pack your (or request) earplugs. Although the windows have been soundproofed, we are still on a busy corner of Lower Manhattan
-
I wish the minibar would stock more non-alcoholic beverages and the food menu (both in-room and at Corner Bar) would have more options catering to restrictions (like gluten intolerance) or simply to those who want to have one detox meal in between feasts

Nine Orchard strikes many future-forward points. First, it massively supports the neighborhood businesses: minibar curated and stocked by Dimes Market; turndown service cookie by Mel The Bakery (who is literally around the corner); custom shower products by local hair stylist Takamichi Saeki; a book program by Orchard Street's Sweet Pickle Books; and the artworks seen around the hotel were created by New York-based artists — both young and new, established and emerging.
