Highs & Lows
-
The Apartment, the guest-only lounge takes over the huge windowed space where 60 Thompson's front desk used to be. AM and PM we were greeted by a hostess who acted like we all just lived there, wine and cocktails on the house at night, and a chill breakfast/WFH space all day
-
Showstopping design. From the ripple pool/fountain entry to the Brutalist staircase, fire pit in The Apartment, and Ben Medansky column sculptures. No beige here-- every room is lacquered in navy, marigold yellow, or scarlet, but it all works
-
Slept better here than I have in months
-
Sloane's speakeasy/cocktail bar. Yes, it shares a name with my small daughter, but aside from that, I'll come regularly
-
The rooftop. I went to a bunch of art week parties here when it was new last spring and the view/space is a world of its own

No TVs for design-forward relaxation, no plastics, Costa Brazil sustainable amenities. The Apartment lounge is the real standout: included aperitivo, all-day snacks, communal living space as part of the rate. It's moving toward the members club as hotel-stay model

Designed By
Verena Haller, Standard International's chief design officer, with Italian designer and architect Hannes Peer. Dynamite details are everywhere: Max ID glassware in rooms, Alex Proba-painted hallway ceilings. Lush color everywhere
-
Health & Wellness
Not onsite, but they partner with Class Pass. And it’s SoHo, so there’s hundreds of studios, including Solidcore, Barry's Bootcamp, SoulCycle, and Remedy Place SoHo. Guests get 20% off guided ice baths, sauna suites, vitamin IV drips, red light therapy, and AI massages (a literal robot)
-
Food
A highlight. Otter is the seafood restaurant downstairs, all colorful banquettes and an ancient-looking Elvira Solana mural. (Love a lobster roll in April.) The brunch there is gorgeous. Upstairs, stake out a quiet spot at the Apartment for a pastry + coffee breakfast spread, with candy corner/all days snacks
-
Bar, Events & Nightlife
The bar at the Otter is huge, but late night the draw is Sloane's, the swanky speakeasy hidden upstairs. The room filled up fast with lots of going-out tops. Our favorite was the nightly aperitivo and nightcap at the guests-only Apartment.

Hotel Location
On that quiet stretch of Thompson Street that used to house 60 Thompson hotel. You're in the middle of everything, but I always liked that this spot feels slightly removed from it all. Every gallery is worth visiting, every restaurant is hot, and if you're here to shop, you won't sleep.
