Hamilton Princess & Beach Club
Where:Hamilton
Why:For the opening of Marcus Samuelsson's new restaurant "Marcus'"
When:June 2015

Hamilton Princess is the official host of the 2016 America's Cup and it's positioned as one of the best viewing spots on the island. We were lucky enough to see some of the team members practicing while out for an afternoon sail.

The suites are super spacious with separate sleeping and living areas.

Cozy sitting area.

Impressive modern art around every corner.

This new sculpture by Chinese contemporary artist Ai Weiwei was installed in the lobby during our stay.

Taking a dip at the Beach Club.

A view of the beach club from the water.

This is where I add "doing the butterfly on the deck of a catamaran" to my skills on Linkedin. The hotel can organize a private group charter- a gorgeous way to spend a few hours cruising around the island and getting a peek at some mind-blowing real estate.

This is right about when you start crafting your next Out of Office auto reply.

Sunset over Marcus' modern, panoramic space.

The hotel flew the flags of Sweden and Ethiopia to celebrate Marcus Samuelsson's opening.

The dreamy infinity pool.

Bermuda shorts. Bermuda smiles.

Welcome to the Hamilton Princess. Bermuda pink trumps Nantucket Red for me every time.
Highs & Lows
Proximity. A flight from JFK to Bermuda is less than 2 hours...half the time it takes to get to the Hamptons!
Art. The hotel's owners are avid modern art collectors and you'll find works ranging from Warhol to Weiwei throughout the property. Tack an art tour onto your itinerary.
The beach. While the hotel itself is on a harbor, their private beach club is a short shuttle ride away and offers a full menu of food & cocktails, not to mention the most stylish and well-appointed beach bathrooms I've ever seen.
Sailing! Hamilton Princess is the official host for the 35th America's Cup being held July 2016. The hotel will boast the best view on the island for fans of the world famous event.
You might prefer island accommodations in closer proximity to the beach, but if superior service and great dining options are important- take the gamble.
