Highs & Lows

  • Leave it up to none other than the fabulous Celerie Kemble to design the most refined yet whimsical interiors for the recently renovated Mayflower Inn. Every space feels totally bespoke and unique. From the botanical textiles, wicker lamps, ceramics, layered textures, colorful wallpapers, and fanciful paper flowers — not a single detail was overlooked.

  • The hotel’s The Well Spa is a must visit. They offer amazing treatments and classes in the most beautiful venue.

  • Take advantage of the curated experiences offered at the hotel from tarot card readings and wine tastings to pottery making and archery.

  • I loved that we were able to connect the TV to our Netflix to relax and binge watch some of our favorite shows.

  • There were so many thoughtful details throughout our stay. Every flower arrangement was prettier than the next. Our nightly in room surprises from a special mocktail (I was pregnant) to locally made bath products were so appreciated. The cupcakes for my husband’s birthday and the welcome note and bottle of champagne made us feel extra special.

  • Unfortunately, my room (which was in the main building) was a bit noisy, making some much-needed shut-eye a challenge.

Washington CT is just blissful and rightfully served as the inspiration for Stars Hollow, the greatest fictional town from Gilmore Girls. Even so, the town of New Preston, just a short drive away from Mayflower Inn, is even more impressive with a number of amazing design stores.
